Wimberley Texas – Hays County
Wimberley Texas is a small Texas town that many people adore. Located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, Wimberley Texas has a cute downtown Wimberley Square shopping area with small, quaint restaurants and shops. There are many nice Bed and Breakfasts and cottages for a stay as well as Ranches with cabins for rent like the Storm Ranch. Stop at the Wimberley Chamber of Commerce to get all the brochures, business cards and other information on local businesses. Wimberley Market Days are every 1st Saturday March through November. I love the mysterious and beautiful Jacob’s Well. Check out JacobsWellSpring.org 512-847-2868 a part of the Wimberley Valley Watershed Association. Learn more about the Trinity Aquifer and Jacob’s Well in the informative video below.
The Wimberley Cafe is one of those cute restaurants on the Wimberley Square – 101 Wimberley Square, Wimberley, TX 78676 (512) 847-3333. There are other restaurants as well such as the Cypress Creek Cafe.
You will also love Wimberley Glass Works, a local hand blown glass studio. Explore the gallery for one of a kind hand made glass pieces available for purchase. You can also sit in the studio and watch the artisans create their craft from inception to product. Each larger piece, such as a platter may take 3 artisans up to one hour of work. Be prepared, the studio is hot because the furnaces are on every day but they have cold bottled water for sale.

I have loved Wimberley Texas all my life and frequently have swam in the cold spring waters at Blue Hole there on the Cypress Creek where the rare wild chatterbox orchid grows. My father, Carl Williams Raetzsch was born in neighboring San Marcos, Texas.
