Jester is an established, mature hill ridgetop neighborhood in Northwest Austin just off Ranch Road 2222, west of Loop 360 (or Capital of Texas Highway) and east of Ranch Road 620 & River Place (or Four Points area). Jester is made up of over 900 homes and includes several neighborhoods including Jester Estates, Jester Point, Jester Farms, Overlook at Jester and Canyon Ridge. A beautiful Austin Neighborhood, many homes in Jester have stunning Texas Hill Country views. The wonderful Balcones Canyonlands Preserve surrounds the neighborhood on three sides. The Jester Home Owner’s Association has a great website. The Jester Homeowners Association, Inc. (JHA) publishes the Warbler newsletter and is active with events like neighborhood garage sales, Easter Egg Hunts, etc. I find it wonderful that Jester is the City of Austin‘s second Green Neighborhood in February of 2008. 23 hybrid vehicles reside in the Jester neighborhood. 96 homes or more are certified wildlife habitats. At least 18 homes in Jester have solar panels. 2 homes are listed on the City of Austin’s website for having Award Winning GREEN Gardens: 7202 Foxtree Cove which is a National Wildlife Federation certified habitat, has rainwater collection and educates about water quality. The other at 6808 Jester Wild is owned by Master Naturalists whose home protects the environment and has a Austin Green Building program 4 star rating. Jester Amenities
Area amenities include greenbelt, jogging, biking path; a community pool, clubhouse, sport courts and tennis courts. The major Austin TX employer 3M is nearby just up the hill on 2222 at River Place.

Builders of Jester homes include Brighton Homes, Scott Felder and Lantana Homes among others. Lantana Homes recently built a custom home in Jester Estates that was awarded the City of Austin Greenbuilding’s 4 star rating.
Jester Schools
Children in Jester attend Austin ISD schools or one of the many private schools nearby such as Saint Theresa’s School also in the hills of Northwest Austin at 4311 Small Drive, Austin, TX 78731 for Pre K to 6th grade.
Jester Directions
To get to the Jester Neighborhood take Ranch Road 2222 west from Loop 360. Turn right on Jester Boulevard, just past the shopping center. This is one of three entrances into the Jester Community.
In 2009, Homes for Sale in Jester ranged from the upper $300’s to just less than $700,000. and from $124.34 to $162.05 per square foot. All are over 3000 square feet and one is almost 5,500 square feet. You can see the current prices above.
