Downtown Austin TX

Downtown Austin Texas is fun and exciting, educational and at the same time, it can be relaxing. There are great restaurants, parks, Farmer’s Markets, festivals and many condo projects. One great downtown Austin attraction is Lady Bird Lake, which was formerly called Town Lake and is part of the Colorado River. There is a great trail system and parks along the lake as well as canoe and kayak rentals as well as skulling. IH 35 runs beside Downtown Austin. You can go see the Capital of Texas, the Governor’s Mansion,  or many other historical buildings. There are plays and shows. I love Esther’s Follies which features music, magic and comedy for a good laugh. There are festivals such as the Pecan Street Festival. There are parades such as the annual Art Car Parade which I have been in. You can ride in a horse drawn carriage or a pedicab. The old Driscoll Hotel is amazing especially if you love history! You will love the many areas of Downtown Austin Texas. The Warehouse District over by West 4th is amazing as well as Austin’s famous 6th Street.

Downtown Austin condo projects are changing all the time. There are many new ones and some under construction as well as some who have been on the radar for some time. The Milago on Rainey offers great Lady Bird Lake views as well as quick access. I know of one right on 6th Street – September 2012.
